Like the host of other people, Mr. Darcy remains one of my favorite literary characters. While I could never quite envision Colin Firth as Darcy, I do feel that Matthew Macfadyen did him justice. For those of you unfamiliar with the plot and characters, I highly recommend reading Pride & Prejudice. Naturally, the language and behavior is quite a shift from today, but there is good reason why the book is widely considered the most romantic story of all time.

Various pencils, blending stump, itty-bitty low res reference pic that began to make my eyes bleed...

This is a beautiful drawing.
Pride and Prejudice is indeed a wonderful story!
Mr. Darcy is surely one of the most precious of literary characters.

Thank you! I was afraid the the contrast might be too extreme, but I honestly had no idea what to make of the background except for leaving it white.
